We have an excellent opportunity for a home based Development Director/Fundraising Sales Director in the Morgantown, Wheeling, Clarksburg, WV and Belmont County, OH area. Be a part of our live saving mission of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Development Director Key responsibilities include managing a year-round fundraising campaign, building relationships with corporate sponsors, partnering with and managing volunteer leadership, implementing, managing and evaluating events that bring together corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders, and volunteers to raise funds and awareness for heart disease and stroke. The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage four events; Three Heart Walks in Northern West Virginia, and a Heart Ball event in St. Clairsville, OH with an aggressive fundraising goal of $195,000 total. AHA fundraising staff are held accountable to these goals and are responsible for seeking top dollar sponsorships and/or multi-year contracts, and a minimum of 10 face to face sales meetings per week.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 3 years experience in management of special events fundraising, sales, marketing and public relations functions.
  • Two to three years relevant work experience, including proven success in sales/fundraising, closing face to face sales.
  • Ability to train, manage, guide, and motivate volunteers to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to set aggressive goals with clients and staff.
  • Ability to plan and work independently.
  • Organizational and interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft office suite.
  • Ability to travel extensively within territory and work flexible hours as needed.
