Job Description
The schedule for this position is Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 6PM to 6AM. To assist the shift supervisor with daily operations utilizing hands on role with shipping, receiving, order selection, inventory control, safety, reconditioning and sanitation. This position will act as a backup lead during times when no shift coverage is available and at times when schedules are heavy and additional supervision is required. Lead pay rate will be paid during the time required for the position.

  • Ensure all team members are following SOP's and are operating safely. Identify and report to management and supervisor safety and operating issues.
  • Assist in operational planning and support daily receipts, shipments, audits and order selection.
  • Respond, troubleshoot, and resolve laser guided vehicle (LGV) alarm and alerts.
  • Reconcile inventory reporting.
  • Assist with on-the-job training for distribution team members.
  • Ensure shift follows good housekeeping and sanitation procedures.
  • Provide clerical support to the distribution operations.
  • Departmental specific lead if necessary.
  • Aid in the inventory control and lot traceability initiates.
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate with job tasks and area
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required


Years of Experience: 0 years - 3 years


Special Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills: Written, Oral, and Computer.
  • Ability to maintain open lines of communication and contact between operations and support functions.
  • Must understand and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPS).
  • Must understand and follow all Job Safety Analysis and Safe Practices.
  • Must Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices for JM Smucker.
  • Must understand and follow all food safety and BRC guidelines.
  • Must have responsible work habits and pass any pre-employment tests.
  • Must pass the drug test and a background check.
  • Attendance Policy - strong adherence.
  • Must understand and follow all Safety Rules.

Physical Functions:
Must be able to use proper technique to lift from 2-50 pounds. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level. Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math and write legibly. Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.

Work Environment:
Environmental Conditions - hot in summer, cool to cold in winter. Dress appropriately.
