KeyBank Real Estate Capital is seeking professionals with experience in loan servicing, finance, and banking for expansion of our $443 Billion commercial real estate portfolio.

We have multiple positions available in our beautiful Overland Park campus!

Under the direction of the department manager, the person in this position is responsible for acting in the most timely, efficient and responsible manner to protect the interest of the investors pursuant to the mortgages serviced for them. The duties specifically relate to all property tax matters. (There can be serious and substantial losses incurred by either the investor or KeyBank if tax penalties are assessed by taxing authorities due to incorrect or untimely payment of property taxes.) This is accomplished within the parameters of individual investor guides, Pooling and Servicing Agreements, applicable law and the mortgage documents.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Review/analyze all types of property taxes for commercial loans to ensure compliance with the loan documents, investor requirements and internal policies and procedures.

- Correspond, either verbally or in writing, as necessary with borrowers and taxing authorities to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to property taxes.

- Update the data contained in the servicing system to reflect the current status regarding tax payment due dates and amounts.

- Monitor and disburse the payment of all property taxes for the commercial mortgage loans for which there are escrow funds being held.

- Monitor and collect the necessary documentation to determine that all non-escrowed loans have paid all property taxes.

MARGINAL OR PERIPHERAL FUNCTIONS

- Administer all customer inquiries and requests that relate to property taxes.

- Assist with servicing acquisition related tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Legal document review and interpretation.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Four year college degree and/or three years commercial property tax experience.

- Efficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Word and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Commercial loan servicing experience.

- Commercial property tax experience.

- Experience with McCracken/Strategy loan servicing system.

Standard office equipment (phone, fax, copier, calculator)

TRAINING REQUIRED

On the job as required.
