JOB TITLE: LEAD PRODUCTION WORKER I

FSLA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

DEPARTMENT: PRODUCTION

REPORTS TO: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Job Summary:

PRODUCTION LINE LEAD I: The Production Line Lead overseas and leads their production line. They assist the Production Supervisor in ensuring their line is adequately staffed and achieves production standards.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Ensure that all production lines/equipment are staffed properly and achieve production standards and deliver scheduled production requirements.
  • Directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Follow company GMP's (good manufacturing practices) and all other quality programs as they relate to production.
  • Manage Ceredian timecard system for staff
  • Manage inventory with First In First Out (FIFO) rotation
  • Trouble shoot and notify mechanics of mechanical issues
  • Verify codes, SOP's and standard work, and provide improvements on documents as needed.
  • Write corrective actions for out of compliance situations
  • Drive LEAN/Continuous Improvement initiatives down to floor personnel.
  • Provide consistent communication and feedback to personnel on shift, and pass information to other shifts.
  • Report and troubleshoot all material usage, finished goods, labor hours, waste, and downtime using approved reports accurately and on time.
  • Follow company GMP's (good manufacturingpractices) and all other quality programs
  • Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when required
  • Responsible for ensuring work area is clean and organized
  • Serves as safety model; promote a high level of safety awareness and continuous improvement in safety practices
  • Committed to ensuring that the products produced meet all food safety and quality requirements
  • Manages employees on a production line. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this section.
  • Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
  • Manage production line performance measures and provide regular progress reports to managers.
  • Coach and counsel employees; document/discuss performance reviews on a timely basis.
  • Perform accident investigations.
  • Manage production line priorities.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess High school diploma or equivalent, and 3 years supervisory experience in related field.
  • Basic computer skills, experience with PC and PLC driven components, familiar with production/processing lines and/or packaging equipment
  • The candidate will be subject to pre-employment criminal background and drug screening tests. Any job offer will be subject to satisfactory completion of these tests. Other skill-related tests may be required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vocational school certification, Highschool diploma or equivalency.
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish.

Additional Considerations:

  • Travel Expectation: none.
  • This position will be at the Plant in Omak, WA.
  • Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
