About This Role: |
The Online Academic Advisor will provide clear, thorough onboarding materials to new K-State Online students. This position utilizes excellent interpersonal communication and relational skills to help students reach their career and academic goals. The advisor will engage in collaborative advising conversations with online learners while assisting them in academic and course planning, professional preparation, and connections to university resources. The Online Advisor must understand the characteristics and needs of adult online learners, and best practices for advising online students to identify issues and make appropriate referrals. The Advisor will work closely with partner colleges and the online team of academic advisors to coordinate communications and advising practices to students. The Online Academic Advisor will collaborate and meet regularly as part of the student success and advising team.
