TECH PLATFORM SPEC SR

As a Technical Platform and Support Specialist Senior and a member of PNC's Information Technology group, you will be responsible to provide high level technical support for critical business applications. This role is charged with installation and deployment support, investigating and resolving problems reported by customers, and providing recommendations to and working closely with the application development group. You will be based in Overland Park, KS and part of a diversified financial services firm that reflects the needs, values and goals of our customers, employees, communities and shareholders. You will be institutional in helping to maintain PNC’s reputation for technology excellence in both business applications and new innovations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Provide technical application support to existing in-house systems and 3^rd party applications.

* Strong client service focus.

* Work closely with vendors, business users and technical support teams.

* Document requirements and solutions to support issues.

* Assist in requirements and technical specifications for enhancements.

* Develop custom applications to aide in the automated support, system monitoring and capacity management of the applications as needed, which may include writing VB scripts/programs, SQL Server scripts, and .Net applications.

* Monitor systems, collects and analyzes data to ensure compliance with established service levels and to support system capacity planning.

* Maintain system documentation for end users and the support desk, and provides instruction on pertinent technical aspects of assigned systems.

* Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery plans for assigned systems.

* Participate in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of technology solutions to meet current and projected needs.

* Need to be available and be able to support all business functions off hours and/or from home on an as needed basis.

SKILLS

* Strong knowledge base of Windows operating systems

* Relational database experience and proficiency in
SQL Server 2005/2008

* Fundamental understanding of .NET applications
and functionality

* Strong analytical and problem solving skills

* Self-starter that proactively seeks to improve the stability and productivity of assigned systems and applications

*Effective time management, communication, decision-making, and organizational skills

* 3+ years of experience managing and supporting server and web based applications/systems on a Windows network is required.

* Must have strong SQL Skills - must be able to review SQL code written by developers, troubleshoot and correct it.

* Previous experience troubleshooting application related problems

* Development experience a plus

* Previous experience working with Imaging applications preferred

* Large enterprise support experience (high volume of support issues, complex systems support, large databases)

* 2+ years of applicable work experience in the financial, banking, or commercial real estate industry is preferred.

* Current Microsoft certification in Microsoft Windows
Server or Microsoft SQL Server is preferred

EXPERIENCE

* 7+ years of technical experience in Information Technology.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, and/or equivalent work experience
