Position Description


GEAR For Sports, a leader in custom decorated sportswear, has an immediate opening for a Screenprint Production Sheet Processor to join our Art Support  team. 

Summary:  Responsible for checking the accuracy of new screen print graphics and updating/adding information to the Art Master in Oracle.  Insure all instructions were followed by the Graphic Artist and make sure that the artwork, naming conventions, Jpegs and color information is correct.  Drops correct artwork from Art Archive to Ready-for-Output for Graphic Services to color separate the art.  Entered information is used on Production Sheets and viewed/utilized throughout the company and elsewhere.   Production sheets are used to communicate information regarding a specific design to manufacturing, sales representative and other internal departments.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 
 
Verifies order specifics including art numbers, omits & adds, drawn descriptions, ROE entered descriptions, notes & comments, size restrictions, and location restrictions; Verifies refer-to information
 
Enters Art Master Information in Oracle (description, size, colors, artist initials, head sequence); Checks jpeg image on production sheet.
 
Checks spelling visually against printed New Art Work Order as well as using spell-check on the Macintosh and against any other reference material attached; Uses dictionary, Blue Book and online licensing information located on the Macintosh server.
 
Scans orders into proofing status; Manages orders in proofing bins, workflow on desk and helps with organization of work in the department; Forwards information/paperwork to the proper associates in the Orderflow for completion; Keeps track of and files refer-to’s (when needed)
 
Works on orders in the correct art start date priority, ship complete date priority or customer priority; Meets Art Complete date or Ship Date requirements and Meet deadlines consistently; Turns rush and Event 1orders around quickly
 
Understands the workings of the department, including the printing process, Art Creation, Orderflow, Licensing, Art Approvals, Fusion Process and Dual Process
 
Understands order flow within the company and the Art Department; Understands electronically entered orders and the paper work that it generates; Understands art creation, screen print art techniques and the screen printing process
 
Understands server layout, online garment Restriction pages, online licensing pages; Uses spell check; Drops archived art in the Ready-for-Output Direct-to-Screen server for Graphic Services
 
Possesses general knowledge of Oracle and specific knowledge of the Art Master; Scans orders into status
 
Processes on all types of orders including GEAR, Champion, Under Armour, Event 1, Graphic Design Line Samples, rush orders, contingency orders, Fusion, and retail
 
Meets Production Sheet Processing goals of an average of 80-90 designs per day and meets monthly departmental goals

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
 
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of Macintosh and PC computers as well as the ability to develop a general knowledge of Oracle and the Art Master.
